In the rural villages surrounding Tiruvannamalai, access to healthcare is not just limited—it is uncertain. For many families, visiting a hospital means losing a day’s wages, arranging transport they cannot afford, and traveling long distances on difficult roads. As a result, illnesses are often delayed, ignored, or silently endured until they become severe.
Regenboog’s Mobile Hospital was created to respond to this gap with compassion and urgency. Instead of expecting vulnerable communities to reach healthcare, our team travels directly to them—crossing rough, uneven village roads and remote areas—to ensure that even the most isolated families receive timely medical attention, free of cost.
Our medical team regularly treats some of the most common yet neglected health conditions found in rural Tamil Nadu, including respiratory infections, skin diseases, anemia, malnutrition, joint pains, fevers, and chronic conditions like diabetes and hypertension. What may seem like minor illnesses, if untreated, can deeply affect a person’s ability to work, learn, and live with dignity.
Each visit is not just about treatment, but about building trust and continuity of care. Patients are monitored over time, medicines are provided, and referrals are made when advanced care is needed. Through health education, we also help families understand prevention, hygiene, and nutrition—reducing long-term health risks within the community.
For the people we serve, the arrival of the Mobile Hospital is more than medical support—it is reassurance. It is the feeling that someone has come for them, that their pain matters, and that they are not forgotten. In places where healthcare feels distant, this initiative brings not just treatment, but hope—right to their doorstep.
The mobile clinic operates on a rotating monthly circuit across villages that have no nearby medical facility. Each camp is staffed by a qualified doctor, a nurse, and trained health volunteers who conduct screenings, dispense medications, and refer serious cases to district hospitals.
Services include general consultations, blood pressure and blood sugar checks, wound care, eye screenings, and basic gynaecological care. All medicines are dispensed free of charge.
We maintain a patient record system so that chronic conditions can be monitored across visits, and follow-up care is coordinated with the nearest government health centre.
"For many elderly villagers, our mobile clinic is the only medical care they receive. They wait for us every month."
