For many children in rural Tamil Nadu, education does not end because of a lack of ability—it ends because of poverty. A simple expense like school supplies, uniforms, or transportation becomes a barrier too heavy for families struggling to meet daily needs. And slowly, a child’s education is interrupted, often permanently.
Regenboog’s Educational Sponsorship Program exists to remove these barriers and protect a child’s right to learn. By supporting children from the most vulnerable backgrounds—orphans, children of single parents, and families in extreme poverty—we ensure that financial hardship does not decide their future.
Through this program, children receive consistent support for their educational needs, including school materials, fees, uniforms, and other essentials. But more importantly, they receive continuity—the assurance that they can stay in school without interruption, without fear of being sent back home due to unpaid expenses.
This support goes beyond finances. It builds stability, confidence, and hope. When a child knows that their education is secure, they begin to focus, participate, and dream. Families, too, feel relief—knowing their child has a chance at a different life.
At its heart, this program is not just about sponsoring education—it is about standing beside a child’s journey. It is about ensuring that no child is forced to give up on learning, not because they lack potential, but because they lack support.
Each sponsored child receives full coverage of school fees, examination fees, uniforms, shoes, school bags, stationery, and textbooks. No family should have to choose between their child's education and their next meal.
Sponsorship candidates are identified by our evening school teachers and community supervisors, prioritising children from the most vulnerable households — daily-wage labourers, single-parent families, and orphaned children.
Sponsors receive a bi-annual progress report on the child they support, including school attendance records, exam results, and a personal letter from the child.
